ISRT Surveyors Training course 4 Day Event  

The ISRT surveyors course is for those involved in the damp proofing and remedial treatments industry. 

Essentially the course will provide education, knowledge and skills required to undertake domestic and comercial surveys in our industry.

Day 1:  

Timber – Infestation and decay

• Timber and its use in the construction industry
• Wood Boring insects (woodworm)
• Wood destroying Fungi (dry and wet rot)
• Surveying of Wood fungi
• Surveying of Beetle infestations
• Treatment of wood destroying fungi and Infestations  
• Types of Timber Preservatives and application methods
• Deep kill pastes and applications
• Solvent based Preservatives
• Boron and its applications

Day 2:  

Dampness - Surveys and remedial treatment

• Construction materials, bricks, blocks and stone.
• Cement and concrete
• Damp Meters and applications
• Chemical measurement
• Water Proofing structures
• Tanking basements   
• Dampness in buildings
• Diagnosis of Dampness and condensation in buildings
• Rising damp and its chemical treatment
• Surveying procedures

Day 3:  

Health and Safety at work

• Health and safety in the work place
• Keeping site clean
• Company Law requirements
• COSHH, and risk assessments in the work place
• Water based chemical treatments and safe use  
• Solvent based chemical products  

Day 4:  

On Site Applications

• Site visit
• Rising Damp treatment demonstration
• Timber treatment demonstration
